WREATH Literary Collective is a print magazine and literary community founded in December 2024. The magazine is submissions based and hosts a variety of poetry, prose, and visual art. It is designed and edited by yours truly, Kat Thanopoulos. We also host community events like writing workshops and readings.

The name WREATH has a double meaning. First, it comes from the Greek word for newspaper, εφημερίδα (efimerítha). I think of my little literary magazine as my own sort of newspaper. Pronounced out loud, one can hear the word wreath within: ef-ee-meh-WREATH-a. Moreover, efimerítha is the root word for ephemeral. As for a literal wreath, it is a circular object made up of biological items that are bound to die. The circle representing eternity and the plants representing ephemerality. Art is ephemeral and at the same time everlasting.

WREATH’s editorial voice is philosophical, current, and witty. More about what we look for in submissions can be found in this document.
